Father of five, Andrew Mickan, is passionate about families having fun.

He believes that families that play together are far more likely to stay together. Andrew teaches parents how to make play a regular occurrence within their own family by presenting a Family Time Fun session.

"I like to get together with approximately a dozen parents and for 90 minutes we just have a real good time. In no time at all the room is full of laughter, everybody is relaxed but also buzzing with the atmosphere of fun. The idea being, that if parents have played a game and enjoyed it; they will then be eager, and confident, to share the same fun with their own children.

The games/activities we play are inexpensive, interactive and very easy to learn. They can be played in a group but also with as few as three or four, and are therefore suitable for a family situation. I also give parents some very simple tips on how to make play a regular happening in their family life. I encourage them to set aside 30 minutes, one night a week, that they call their Family Night, and empower them with a range of games and ideas that make this the highlight of their week.

• The Smarties Game, Catch the Dragon's Tail, Stack the Groceries, Two Little Dickie Birds, One Two Three, Sardines, Barn Yard and the Mystery Money Walk are just some of the games you will learn. Games suitable for all ages.
• Andrew relies on principals, kindy directors, P&F chairpersons, CPSWorkers, governing councillors, etc.  to organise a gathering of parents.
• His sessions are in demand from Early Learning Centres, Kindergartens, Schools, Community Centres, Churches and Playgroups.
• The proposed length of session time is approximately 90 minutes (most places book a 2 hour time slot - commencing with the 90 minute session and then conclude with tea/coffee etc.).
• Groups can range from 5 to 25 adults (somewhere around 8 to 12 seems to be the norm, but more, or less is fine). 

Cost

• Session cost is normally $350 (reduced to $325 for any bookings made prior to December 31st).
• This cost includes travel expenses (in most cases).
• (Cancellations will incur a $95 fee. This fee will be waived if a session is rescheduled within 12 months.)
